I got a TikTok message from Miche Beauty back in November asking if I would like to try out their Gel-to-Foam Styling Mousse. I’ll admit, I never heard of the brand before, but after looking through their socials, I was a little intrigued, but also hesitant. I wasn’t sure if they were expecting me to post content that showcased their product on my natural hair, or if a protective style, such as braids, would work. If you know me, then you know that I’m a bantu knot girl. That is one of my go-to protective styles, besides braids. Wash n go, twist outs/braid outs are not my thing at all. I’ve tried them before and decided to just stick with bantu knots. But Miche beauty was sending me their styling mousse and I wanted to switch it up a little.
A month later, I opened a package to more than a few Miche Beauty products. I received their Gentle Clarifying Shampoo, Protein + Moisture Balancing Deep Conditioner, Curl Defining Gel and their Gel-to-Foam Styling Mousse. I was overwhelmed. Immediately, I was on TikTok, Instagram and Pinterest searching wash n go hairstyles. I was determined to attempt a wash n go for the second time in my life now that I had all of these products.
The Gentle Clarifying Shampoo ($8), is probably one of the best shampoos I’ve tried. Made with apple cider vinegar, which cleanses pores of toxins and odors buildup on the scalp, my scalp never felt so clean. It honestly felt like I got a peppermint treatment on my hair. I then followed up with the Protein + Moisture Balancing Deep Conditioner ($20), which made my hair easier to detangle. I let the conditioner sit in my hair for about 30 minutes and then rinsed it out. Now the products are numbered, but the Curl Defining Gel ($8) and their Gel-to-Foam Styling Mousse ($8) both are numbered “3,” so I went in with the gel first, using the raking method to distribute the gel into small sections of my hair. I followed up with the mousse and this is the product that really had me! My curls looked GOOD! When I say I was impressed! It’s been hard for me to find products that really define my curls, so I always shied away from wash n go’s.
I ended up letting my hair air dry overnight, but I did put scrunchies in my hair to help stretch the curls. The curls looked even better the next day. I will say, there was A LOT of flaking, but besides that I was in love. I never seen my curls look that good and the best part was that it looked better as the days went by. That wash n go lasted 7 days and then it was time for a quick refresh. Now for my refresh, I’ve been using just the mousse and there hasn’t been any flaking and my curls have much more volume the next day.
Besides these products really doing wonders for my hair, they're also price-friendly! I’m really so glad that I came across these Miche Beauty Products. I’ve been rocking a wash n go for weeks now and they just keep getting better and better.
