My Favorite Beauty Products of February

Richie Allyn

Better late than never! I know I usually discuss actual products for these recaps, but today, I want to discuss a brand as my favorite beauty product of February.

I've been on the hunt for some nice quality (but also reasonably priced) hair extensions (bundles). Last summer, I ordered curly bundles from TikTok shop and was shocked at how good they were, but I'm still hesitant about purchasing their other bundles. I feel I haven't had quality bundles since college and that's a problem. It's as if the quality has decreased, yet the prices have increased (same with everything else). I'm not used to paying 400 plus for hair when in college, I could get three bundles AND a closure for around $300.

So I substituted bundles for clips-ins. The Amazon clip-ins I received a few summers ago were nice, and got the job done, but the quality wasn't there. In the process of looking for some bundles, I received an email from a brand praising my work and wanting to collaborate. YouShouldBeHair requested I try their human hair clip-ins, along with a few other goodies from their site. This brand is a one-stop shop for all of your hair care needs, ranging from extensions and hair tools to hair products and accessories. Think of an online beauty supply store! I opted to try a 50:50 Balanced Hydrating Shampoo and 2 Chic Repairing Conditioner by Giovanni, a wax stick from Kitsch, and a bristle brush from Acca Kappa, along with YouShouldBeHair So Wavy clip-ins. Now, I was very hesitant with their hair because although in most of their videos, the stylists installed ONE pack of clip-ins on their client's hair, one pack never worked for me. When it comes to clip-ins, I prefer the braid-down method and installing the clip-ins that way. Installing the extensions in between my hair never gave me the results I wanted, but the brand insisted that one pack would be enough.

I received everything and was more than happy about the products. The shampoo, conditioner, and bristle brush were just what my hair needed to achieve a silk press. It came out perfect. The clip-ins exceeded all of my expectations. I never had "seamless" clip-ins, where I can install them, and they're non-detectable. I was nervous about dying them, but they took the color very well, and once installed, they blended so well with my hair. I was impressed. After a few weeks, I did a side swoop bun with the clip-ins, and again, was impressed.

This

hair is definitely an investment, but I think it's a good investment. It's only been a month, but the clip-ins still look just as good!
