Makeup Faves

I wanted to dedicate my first beauty post to my favorite go-to makeup products. It doesn't matter if I'm doing my go-to face or a dramatic glam, these are the products I always use.

I'll list them in the order they are applied, starting with primer. I've tried a bunch of primers, but Milk Hydro Grip primer is my favorite. This primer is a clear substance, 94% natural, vegan, and free of all the harmful ingredients (parabens, silicone, and fragrance) and is also cruelty-free. The gel formula smooths the skin, but it also has a tacky feel to it which I love. What I also love about this product is how smooth my foundation goes on once applied. The primer comes in three sizes: the mini $17 (0.33fl oz/10 ml), full size $34 (1.52fl oz/45 ml), and jumbo $65 (5.28fl oz/150 ml).

My next favorite product is Anastasia Beverly Hills Luminous foundation. As with primers, I've tried plenty of foundations before, but this one is for sure a favorite. I am a medium coverage type of girl. I like for my foundation to still look and feel like skin. I've tried full coverage before, and it was just not for me. This foundation is marketed as medium coverage, luminous, with a natural finish. It comes in 50 shades, which is definitely a plus. This foundation is also for all skin types: normal, dry, combination and oily. The foundation comes in one size: 1.01oz for $38.

Next is concealer. Although I love medium coverage foundations, I have grown to love full coverage concealers. My two favorites at the moment are Too Faced Born This Way Multi Sculpting concealer and Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Creaseless Matte concealer. Yes, I love for my foundation to feel like skin, but something about a full coverage concealer just brings the look together. I use two shades in the Born This Way concealer, one that brightens my undereye just a little, and the other that brightens it by 3-4 shades (I know). I was never a fan of super bright undereye, but I've grown to love them now. The Born This Way concealer is full coverage, but it also hydrating. I don't feel like my undereye is dry after application. The formula is also weightless, which is another reason I love it. This concealer comes in 30 shades and is also a great size (0.5oz), for $30.

I heard a lot about Giorgio Armani products and decided to try the concealer. Even though the product is marketed as medium to full coverage, it provides a natural matte finish which I absolutely love. The product is buildable, and is for normal, combination and oily skin types. The retail price for this product is $34 for 0.2oz.

For translucent powder, I've been back and forth between Laura Mercier and Sascha Buttercup. I like the Sascha Buttercup powder because of how thick and weightless it is. Since I decided to start doing the bright undereye look, I went back to using Laura Mercier, but instead of using the banana shade, I used the translucent (almost white) shade. The translucent powder helps brighten the undereye a little more than the banana shade (for me).

This next product I'll rage about is an all-time favorite. I wanted this product ever since I saw Alissa Ashley (look her up lol) using. For some reason, the product was not online at the time, and I believe it was discontinued for a little. Sephora Microsmooth Baked Face Powder is a holy grail. I use this product when wiping off the translucent powder. This not only sets the concealer even more, but it also helps minimize the white cast caused by baking. The retail price for this product is $20 and is a must have.

Now for contour, I go back and forth between creams and powder. Right now, I've been loving the Fenty Benty Sun Stalk'r bronzer. I realized that I like my contours more on the warm, red side than the brown side. The bronzer is marketed as matte and long-wearing and provides a nice warm glow to my face. The product comes in 9 shades and retails for $34. Before this product, I was using Black Opal True Color foundation stick to contour. Products that have multiple use will always have a place in my heart. You can use the Black Opal foundation stick as foundation, undereye concealer and to contour. Although I've never used it on myself as foundation, I loved the product as a cream contour. These foundations are marketed as full coverage and provide a velvet-like finish. They blend with almost every foundation and look seamless on the skin. The foundation comes in 25 shades and retails for $11.95.

For blush, I've been loving Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream blush. I use this product alone, rather than setting it with a powder blush because it helps add to my skin-like finish. I love how the blush melts into my skin and also provides a highlight to it. The retail price for this product is $22.

If you watched my videos, then you know I always do my eyebrows last. I've been a fan of NYX Micro Brow Pencil. I barely fill my brows in and like the rest of my face, I like for my brows to still look natural. This product does the job and retails for $10.

For setting spray, I've been loving the Milk Hydro Grip Setting and Refreshing Spray. I used to be a fan of Morphe Setting Spray, but I feel like I ran out of the product way too fast. The Milk Setting Spray provides a refreshing glow to my face and is honestly my favorite setting spray ever.

Another favorite Milk product is their Kush High Volumizing Mascara. For my bare face days, this mascara does its job. The mascara does provide you with thick lashes, if that's what you're going for. It retails for $25.

I hope this helped and encouraged you all to try these products if you haven't already. Please let me know in the comments if you have or what products are currently your favorite!

Love your post! I’m definitely going to try the Black Opal foundation stick for contouring! Currently, I‘m really loving Fenty Beauty products. My faves are the skin tint, cream blush and bronzer. Also loving the ABH brow pencil, Laura Mercier powder, Milk primer and Juvia’s Place eyeshadow palettes!

Great post! Been looking for a great mascara that gives a thick lash look and tried different brands only to be disappointed. They were either too runny or too dry! The Kush High Volumizing Mascara sounds like what i’ve been looking for. Will definitely give it a try. Thank you!
