As promised, let's talk about my favorite beauty products of December.
A few posts ago, I talked about how I was in love with Youth To The People Superfood Cleanser. Well I've been using their Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream as well, and my gosh! I have normal skin, meaning that it changes along with the seasons. In the winter it's more on the drier side, and in the summer, it's more on the oiler side. Because it's been super cold outside, I've been dedicating more time to my skincare routine. I start with the cleanser and follow up with the moisturizer. It's very lightweight and provides my skin with a healthy glow. It also provides a perfect base under my makeup.
Another skincare favorite that I've been loving is the Baimei Jade Roller and Gua Sha. This brand sent me their quartz jade roller and gua sha, and I've been trying to add these into my normal skincare routine. Now I don't gua sha everyday, but I try to do it at least twice a week. I never had an actual gua sha, so I was super excited to try one. My main concern is simply to romanticize my skincare routine and these steps definitely help. My goal isn't to slim certain features of my face, (which is one of the benefits to the gua sha method), but to help promote healthy blood flow in my face, along with minimizing puffiness in the morning.
Keeping up with skincare, I ordered the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Icons Set during the Sephora sale. I've always loved Glow Recipe products, so I was excited to try this set. My very first product I've ever tried from them was the Banana Soufflé Moisturizer which was a staple in my both my skincare and makeup routine. I was so disappointed when I they discontinued it haven't bought from them since. The products are marketed for normal, dry, combination and oily skin. Every product in the set is lightweight and will literally have your skin glowing.
I've been trying to get back into winged eyeliner, and I found the PERFECT black liquid eyeliner. I was never a heavy eyeliner girl, but I always admired a perfect winged liner. During the Sephora sale, I bought the Sephora Collection Colorful Wink-It Felt-Tip Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner and it's been a favorite purchase thus far. It's felt tip, extremely pigmented and smudge-proof. I've been creating some fine winged tip liner with the help of this eyeliner.
I bought the Haus Labs Triclone Skin Tech Foundation along with the Triclone Skin Tech Hydrating + Depuffing Concealer a while back, but the concealer was too dark, so I stuck with my usual concealer duo. Then one day, I didn't have my go-to concealer on me, and decided to give the Haus Labs one a try and was shocked at how good it was. Yes it's too dark to highlight, but it's the perfect shade and coverage to conceal any blemishes. The formula and coverage are also very good, so now it's apart of my makeup routine.
Around this time last year, I attempted my first ever wash n go. I was sent products from Miche Beauty, and wanted to learn what works for my curls. This year, around the same time, I attempted a wash n go again, but I used a different product. The Doux Big Poppa Gel. I've tried their mousse for a wash n go before and wasn't a fan, but I did love the way it worked with a perm rod set. My curls weren't as defined as they were while using the Miche beauty products. This time, I combined the gel with the shingle method and my curls were so defined and bouncy. My wash n go also lasted a whole week. The gel isn't too thick, and it also doesn't cause flaking. I even mixed it with the Miche Beauty Sculpt Curl Defining Gel, and my curls came out even better!
Let me know what products you've been loving recently!
